Our current projects include our Lee family website at
www.leesofvirginia.comwhere we provide to the public and Lee family members access to the
"Lee Family Forum" where they can utilize this tool to network with other family members, genealogist and researchers regarding the Lee family heritage. This forum also allows public discussions on issues, sharing of information and documentation, posting of requests for additional genealogical information.
We also are featuring the E-book "Lost Descendants" which is and will be an on-going attempt to educate the public of the history and heritage surrounding the the Lee family originating from the lineage of Col. Richard Lee and Ann Constable. The "Lost Descendants" will also be presenting the arguments and documentation regarding the lineage of the William Lee, son of Col. Richard Lee and Ann Constable, which has historically been ignored as a legitimate line of descendants.
Other areas that the E-book will be exploring are the Lee descendants that have made positive contributions to our Country during their lifetimes and regarded as "Famous Lees", we will highlight their achievements and overall effects on our American history today. We also acknowledge the unique Lee "Presidency" connection where documented facts have proven that all 43 American Presidents are descendants of the Lee family tree.
We will be tracing our family migrations from the Virginia colony to where the lines branched off to other states and regions, where we will highlight family members, surnames, life stories surrounding their settlement into these territories to the present day connections and relationships. We will also presenting the ancestry of Col. Richard Lee and Ann Constable and their lineage originations in the United Kingdom and the alignment of our Lee family peerage with our royal descent. This will also include the presentation of the
"Lost Descendants of The South Carolina Leigh Baronetcy" which will present the story of the Georgetown, South Carolina de Leigh/Lee family which owned the Plantation known as "The Retreat". The whereabouts of the heirs of the baronetcy has been a mystery for over a century, for after the Civil War the family members disappeared without a trace, leaving the Crown to claim the baronetcy as "Dormant" with the danger of being currently claimed "Extinct". The discovery and research behind the descendants of
Sir Thomas Egerton Leigh/Lee will be highlighted in this chapter.
We also will continue to publish and distribute publicly quarterly "Newsletters" to update readers and family members on new information regarding the Lee Family heritage, upcoming events and other informative subject matter.
This website also is a way for many seeking confirmation or information regarding their own connection to the Lee lineage by requesting inquiries in regards to immediate family members or surnames.
We will be presenting the "Pros and Cons" in regards to DNA research - the issues, margins of error and risks involved with this experimentation, how this effects the future of all Lee family members directly, the legalities and liabilities of "dis-inheriting" individuals and lines from our Lee linage through speculative opinions or results of this experimental research, and the imperative reinforcement of the recognition, protection and preservation of historical and legal documentation as the priority means of claiming their birth right to their Lee lineage and heritage.
